A Path of Generosity and the Craft of Meditation, Toronto, ON
September 3, 2008 – September 4, 2008 UTC-8
In two nights of classes, Lama Mark will set forth a path of Freedom through the practice of generosity and meditation.
“Generosity is a high practice, with profound scope and consequences for all of us. Classically the meditation on generosity was to dissolve fear in oneself and others. Without embracing generosity at many levels, our spiritual unfolding comes and goes and often it sputters and withers, like a candle flame without air. Poverty mind sets in and meditation becomes a rote technique, a lifeless practice. Generosity is at the heart of our human development and everything we do, especially meditation. Wisdom dawns when meditation becomes fused with a continuum of aware generosity. This fusion leads to the eradication of mental poverty through discovering the immense wealth of the naturally awake mind brimming with an ocean of compassion: the Wish-granting Jewel and the Buddha’s Wish-fulfilling Tree.” Lama Mark
